Paying Nanny Tax Through Estimates or Withholding (Jan 15 Payment)
Household employment taxes are paid with your income tax return, on Schedule H (Topic 756). Because they're added to your tax for the year, you may owe an underpayment penalty unless you cover them during the year — by asking your own employer to withhold more, or with estimated tax payments on Form 1040-ES.
Using the quarter totals
Nannytally shows cash wages by quarter. Multiply by about 15.3% (plus FUTA early in the year) to size each estimate. The fourth 2026 payment is due January 15, 2027.
Year-end checklist
- Check every paycheck is in the log and nothing is entered twice.
- W-2 and W-3 to the employee and SSA by February 1, 2027.
- Schedule H with your 2026 Form 1040 by April 15, 2027.
- Your state's unemployment and withholding returns — Nannytally doesn't cover those.
